Tributes and Condolences

My big brother  / Sue Reed (Sister)
He took care of me when we spent the night in the Saint Louis airport.  He taught me how to water ski, and took me on my first motorcycle ride.  We went to Hawaii, the Bahamas, Florida and more places.  I watched him marry, his long silky brown hair so shiny and smooth flowing down his back.  I got to spend time with him in Las
Vegas and Reno, playing blackjack was a blast.  I named a son after him, my own Jeff to have.  I cried each time we parted but knew we would be together again.  As we said our last good byes, I had no doubt that we will be together again forever.

So strong, so cool, so much fun, MY brother JEFF!
Some times it's hard to find the words  / Cathy Sciford (sister-in-law)

My heart goes out to all of Jeff's beloved family & friends.

Though we lived over a thousand miles apart & I didn't get to see him often enough, Jeff was the kind of guy you didn't need to see often to love him.
He was so unpretentious, open & down to earth that he just made me feel comfortable & like a welcome part of the family the first time I met him.

The love & care surrounding him in his last days was in itself a tribute to him.
He was never alone throughout his last few days at Keyser Permanente Hospital.  There was always a loved one right at his side to hold his hand ... offer whatever comfort could be given ... say a prayer ... shed tears ... just be close to him.

He truly is loved by so many.

In my own heart, I'm comforted in the belief that once Jeff accepted that his life on earth was limited, he made the very most of it that he possibly could, God bless his heart!  He packed as much family, friends & fun into his life as he could.
I'm so glad that he was able to make the trip up to Omaha with Cindy, Jenny & Forrest this past summer, & even spend some time with the whole family up at the river with us.  That means a lot to me, & even more so to Ken.  That's a memory both of us will hold dearly forever.

He left too soon & I only wish there were many more memories ...

If I Knew...  / Jennifer Fisher` (DAUGHTER!)  Read >>
If I Knew...  / Jennifer Fisher` (DAUGHTER!)

If I Knew
If I knew it would be the last time

That I'd see you fall asleep,
I would tuck you in more tightly
and pray the Lord, your soul to keep.
If I knew it would be the last time
that I would see you walk out the door,
I would give you a hug and kiss
and call you back for one more.
If I knew it would be the last time
I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise,
I would video tape each action and word,
so I could play them back day after day.
If I knew it would be the last time,
I could spare an extra minute
to stop and say "I love you,"
instead of assuming you would KNOW I do.
If I knew it would be the last time,
I would be there to share your day,
Well I'm sure you'll have so many more,
so I can let just this one slip away.
For surely there's always tomorrow
to make up for an oversight,
and we always get a second chance
to make everything just right.
There will always be another day to say "I love you,"
And certainly there's another chance
to say our "Anything I can do?"
But just in case I might be wrong,
and today is all I get,
I'd like to say how much I love you
and I hope we never forget.
Tomorrow is not promised to anyone,
young or old alike,
And today may be the last chance
you get to hold your loved one tight.
So if you're waiting for tomorrow,
why not do it today?
For if tomorrow never comes,
you'll surely regret the day,
That you didn't take that extra time
for a smile, a hug, or a kiss
and you were too busy to grant someone,
what turned out to be their last wish.
So hold your loved ones close today,
and whisper in their ear,
Tell them how much you love them
and that you'll always hold them dear.
Take time to say "I'm sorry,"
"Please forgive me," "Thank you," or "It's okay,"
And if tomorrow never comes,
you'll have no regrets about today.
